- Do not text. Do not answer your texts.

- Do your makeup and other grooming at home or wait until you get to your destination. Applying makeup at a stop light is dangerous. You should be aware of your surroundings at all times when you are behind the wheel, even when you are stopped.
- Fast food restaurants sure make it convenient to grab a quick meal on the road, but you really should wait until you’ve parked to eat. Resist the urge to grab a fry by placing the bag in the bag seat before leaving the drive thru line.
- When passing something unusual on the side of the road like a peculiar street sign or a roadside attraction, be on high alert for pedestrians and other drivers who may be caught off guard by the sight. Use caution and be prepared to stop.
- If you are passing an accident, slow down and be ready to listen for instructions from emergency personnel about detours or road closures.
