According to Asbury Park Press, a local business suffered from a fire Sunday night. A Wayside Road building used by a garbage disposal company experienced the fire eruption, reported police. The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. where garbage is processed and equipment is stored by the company in the Marpal Disposal building.

Officers saw no visible flames when they arrived but found heavy smoke, and the building’s sprinkler system had been triggered. Luckily, no employees were in the building at the time of the blaze since the facility was closed for the day. Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, the Tinton Falls Fire Company, Pine Brook Fire Company, Neptune Fire Department, and the Red Bank Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. “It was contained pretty quick and everybody did a great job,” said Lt. Jerry Turning of the police department. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation by firefighters.
