Hurricane Deductibles will NOT apply to NJ Home Insurance. NJ Department of Insurance issued Bulletin 11-16.

Hurricane Deductibles will NOT apply to NJ Home Insurance. NJ Department of Insurance issued Bulletin 11-16 advising all insurers transacting NJ homeowners’ insurance that application of a Hurricane Deductible for property claims related to Hurricane Irene shall be considered a violation of N.J.A.C. 11:2-42.7.  This applies to EVERY Home Insurance NJ Policy.

If you suffered property damage to your home as a result of Hurricane Irene, you can breath a sigh of relief that your Hurricane Deductible will not apply to your claim.  You should refer to your policy and contact your insurance agent immediately.  Dickstein Associates Agency provides claims advocacy for the benefit of our customers and is standing by to help our customers through the claims process.
