How do You Manage the Post-Summer Traffic?

Waking up and going back to work after a summer vacation can be one of the toughest morning tasks you might have to do – especially when you have to face your morning commute again.  To top it off, the roads will still be filled with vacationers and you have to worry about the addition of school buses on the roads, too.  So how do you manage these intense traffic conditions?Traffic Jam

The first thing you should do is give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning.  You may not know what routes the local buses will be taking this school year, so giving yourself some extra time to find out is always a good idea.  You do not want to find yourself rushed at the last minute.  It can be dangerous if you are forced to speed up so you are not late for work.  If you find that you are stuck behind a school bus, you may want to find an alternate route for your daily commute.

Remember to always drive defensively.  When you notice other drivers that may still be on vacation, you may notice that they will be driving more slowly than you might like.  Think of your driving habits when you were on vacation yourself.  You may not have been in such a rush to get to your destination at the time.  Those vacationers you might currently be following are in that mindset.  Try to relax and again, find another route if it will help your drive be more enjoyable.

Your auto insurance policy will have you covered on the road, but more importantly you will need to play it safe to avoid accidents.  Make sure you do not drive under the influence of any type of substance.  Avoid distractions like texting, phone calls, eating, changing the radio station, etc.  Stay safe on the roads.
