Not All Auto Policies Are Created Equal

You may have heard the myth about red sports cars costing their owners a fortune in car insurance.  You may have also heard the myth that no matter what auto insurance policy you have, you will automatically lose coverage after your first claim.  These myths are simply not true.  While there are similarities in all auto insurance policies, not all auto policies are alike.  Red sports cars are not automatically given higher premiums and an accident does not always mean you will lose coverage.

Every auto insurance policy’s premium is determined by a few different factors: the year, make, and model of the vehicle, the deductible you choose, the state in which you reside, how much and how often you will be driving, your age, marital status, and sex, your driving record, and your credit history.  Considering no two drivers or vehicles are the same, auto policies aren’t usually the same from one household to the next.

Also, depending on which carrier you use, your premium could differ even further.  It is always a good idea to get more than one quote on your auto insurance before committing to one.  Take more than just premium cost into consideration when choosing.  You will want to know that your carrier will be there to help in a claim situation.  If you are offered a quote with a premium that seems just too good to be true, Car Key with Insurance Tag on Whitefind out why the carrier is able to offer such a price.  It may be because they outsource their claims department or do not have 24 hour service.

Remember, having an insurance agent who will help you at any time with your policies is also very important.  Call us to talk with one of our licensed insurance agents who will happily help you find the policy that works for you.
